At Trawler's Basket we source responsibly caught fish and pair it with a carefully curated pantry of oils, preserves, and everyday essentials.
Welcome to our fishmonger's shop. With over 25 years of experience, I'm dedicated to offering the highest-quality, sustainably sourced fish from trusted UK markets. My passion is not only in expert cutting and preparation, but also in helping you discover the incredible variety of seafood beyond the usual cod and haddock.
Alongside our fresh fish, we're proud to offer a curated range of cured products, specialty oils, eggs, butter, sauces, and a selection of fresh fruit and vegetables — everything you need to elevate your cooking and bring exceptional flavour to your kitchen.
Everything we do is guided by a simple belief — good food starts with honest sourcing, skilled craft, and genuine care for the world around us.
We work exclusively with fishermen who share our commitment to responsible fishing. Every fish is traceable to a trusted UK source, caught using methods that protect the long-term health of our seas.
We are proud to be a local fishmonger rooted in our community. We believe in fair prices for customers and fair wages for those who catch and process our fish — building relationships that last generations.
With over 25 years of experience, our craft is in the detail — from expert filleting to curating a pantry of ingredients that genuinely elevate home cooking. We never compromise on quality.
We believe you have every right to know where your food comes from. We are open about our suppliers, our methods, and our standards. If you ever want to know more, just ask — we are always happy to talk.
We are passionate about helping people discover the extraordinary variety of seafood on our coastline. From preparing unfamiliar cuts to pairing fish with the right ingredient, we love sharing knowledge.
From the fishermen on the water to the customers at our counter, people are at the heart of everything we do. We take time to listen, to advise, and to make every visit feel genuinely personal.
"We will never sacrifice quality for convenience, never source without conscience, and never stop caring about the people who trust us with their table."

Over 25 years behind the block — and still just as passionate about a perfectly filleted piece of fish.
Trawler's Basket began as a simple idea: that everyone deserves access to truly fresh, responsibly caught seafood — not just the restaurants and the lucky few who live by the coast.
Our founder spent years learning the craft from some of the finest fishmongers in the UK, honing skills in preparation, preservation, and the art of matching the right fish to the right recipe. What started as cutting fish for restaurants and hotels grew, over two and a half decades, into the shop you see today.
We remain proudly independent. No corporate supply chains, no compromises on quality, no shortcuts. Just a deep love of great seafood and genuine pleasure in helping our customers cook better.
The sea gives us everything. It is our responsibility — and our privilege — to protect it for the generations that come after us.
"At Trawler's Basket, sustainability is not a marketing label. It is a daily practice, woven into every purchasing decision we make."
Every fish we sell is traceable from net to counter. We work only with UK fishermen and suppliers who meet strict sustainability standards, ensuring that what ends up on your plate has been caught with care for the ocean and the communities that depend on it.
We prioritise fish caught using line, pot, and net methods with minimal by-catch. We actively avoid suppliers who use bottom trawling in sensitive marine habitats.
Over 90% of our fish is landed at UK ports, reducing food miles and supporting British fishing communities who depend on a healthy, well-managed sea.
Fish frames, offcuts, and trimmings are turned into stock, cured products, or compost. We aim for zero waste and packaging that is fully recyclable or compostable.
We can trace every fish back to the vessel and port it came from. We publish our sourcing information openly and update it seasonally as stocks and conditions change.
We follow and promote seasonal eating guides, advising customers on which fish are at their best — and their most sustainable — at any given time of year.
"We will never sell a fish we would not be proud to trace back to its source — and we will never stop pushing ourselves to do better."
